Happy belated Fourth of July!!!
Lindsay and me celebrating the Fourth!
I was sad to miss out on the festivities back home,
but we celebrated the holiday at school. Yes, that's right, we made Lithuanian
children celebrate America's independence and it was blast! Our party was full
of limbo, American music, and star hats. We even made an American flag fruit
pizza. So fantastic!
Our festive treats including an American Flag fruit pizza that was super delicious!

It was really really hot on Friday and when it's hot in Lithuania you know that there's a rain storm coming. Well it came and it didn't just rain, it down poured! Emma and I left school all prepared with our umbrellas, ready to face our walk home. But what fun is that? So I ditched the umbrella and ran through the rain. Emma joined in on my moment of insanity and we were both absolutely
soaked! We had SO much fun! Running through the rain in Europe...I can check
that off my bucket list.
You might not be able to tell but the rain is coming down hard
Emma and I joined our host family at the beach in
Palanga this weekend too. We were absolutely spoiled by them and who doesn't
love the opportunity to lie on the beach and bask in the sun?
Me and Medeina
Neringa and me. I kinda love this family... a lot!
I got him to smile!!! Do you see this picture?!?! An actual smile!
We're at the beach!
Beach bumming at the Baltic Sea again :)
At the pier, looking out at the sunset
Such a gorgeous night!
I kinda fell in love with Palanga....
Me, Amanda, and Medeina. Amanda would not let me take a picture of her! That girl...
Near, far, wherever you are... I mean... roommate lovin :)
Tis true :)
Emma and me with our host mom, Jolita! She's the best!
The house and I matched... awkward
We taught Jolita and Medeina how to jump for pictures... successful? I'd say so :)
Emma and I had to leave on Sunday night so that we could get
back and teach, but Jolita insisted that we eat before getting on the train. So
we stopped at a restaurant on the walk back from the beach. We only had like an
hour to get to there so while everyone else waited for the food Arturas suggested
that he and I run and grab our bags and the car. When he said run, I didn't
think he meant literally... But we did, in sandals and our beach attire
nonetheless. When we made it back to the restaurant the food still had not come
and we were getting down to like thirty minutes until departure. We finally
left the restaurant with twenty minutes to get to the train station that was
fifteen minutes away. Arturas was speeding the entire way and running over
curbs to get there, but you know those moments when you're in a rush and every
slow person decides that they need to get in your way? That was happening.
I had come to the conclusion that we weren't going to make it. When we
got there we jumped from the car and ran to buy our tickets with literally
five minutes until the train left. They stop selling tickets five minutes
before so we got there in just the nick of time. The train pulled up as we
finished paying and we were luckily able to get on.
See that time? Our train left at 17:33... last minute much?
Lots of Love from Lithuania!
Oh I love it, how fun. I am so grateful to your beautiful host family for taking such good care of you. Love the running in the rain...and it seems you take after your mother in getting places...just in the nick of time. So glad you made your train. Tell your host family, thank you, thank you, thank you, from your crazy mother. Love you and miss you.
